Rubies
Mrs Hall is the class teacher in Rubies. She is supported Mrs Moffatt. Mrs Harrison is our Cover Supervisor and teaches the children in Rubies too.
Homework
In Rubies, we are expected to always:
- Work towards our SMIRF targets.
- Work on Mathletics and Spelling Shed.
- Read at least 3 times a week (we are working towards our whole school reading target!)
- Learn our spellings (sent out on a Friday to be tested on the following Friday)
- Learn to read our High Frequency Words.
- When your child reads five times, they receive five Dojos- so make sure to fill in their reading record.
- When your child can read all of the High Frequency Words in a phase, they will receive a certificate.
PE
Rubies PE day is every Tuesday. Due to the on going situation with Covid19 we are asking children to wear their PE kit as uniform on this day please.

Supporting Learning at Home
We recently purchased a subscription for Spelling Shed. From Year One at the moment, all children will have a log in sent home to help them learn their spellings by playing online games. The app is £2.99 but the game can be played on a web browser. We also subscribe to Mathletics which can be used at home. (Please see Mrs Hall if you have forgotten your log-ins)
Here is a list of some phonics websites/apps to support your child at home:
